what is myopia

Myopia is a refractive error of the eye that leads to blurred vision, especially in objects that are far away. The eye is an organ whose main purpose is to collect all the rays of light on the retina. The light and all its rays are concentrated in the front part of the eye called retina and its function is to convert the light into an image. In myopia the light rays are not concentrated on the retina but in front of it resulting in blurred vision, for this reason the person is unable to see objects clearly

How to correct myopia

Myopia correction aims to change the course of light rays and refocus them on the retina and convert light into an image. This is done with diverging (negative) lenses that are placed on a frame and helps convert light into an image in the retina. Contact lenses can also provide a wider field of view
